Before our App Version 5.0 the default Bible experience was to link to Bible Gateway. Articles published before the 5.0 version was released in early 2024 will still link to Bible Gateway.
Going forward, the In-App Scripture experience is now the default mode of Scripture delivery on the ODB app. There is no longer an option to turn this feature on and off. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Here are some frequently asked questions about the Bible Reading experience:
- Can I change the Bible translation?
- Is the whole Bible available on your app now?
- Is there an audio Bible available in the app?
Can I change the Bible translation?
To change the version of the Bible that you're reading, please select "Bible" from the menu at the bottom of the screen.
From here, you will be able to see what Bible version you are currently using and select the version notation to view the other options.
Then you will be brought to the screen denoting each Bible version that is available. Please select the version you would like (scroll to see more options)
If you do not see your preferred version, we apologize for the inconvenience. If you would like, you can always use the YouVersion Bible app or open Bible Gateway on your device browser to access many other Bible translation options.
Is the whole Bible available on your app now?
Yes! To use this feature, please select "Bible" from the menu at the bottom of the screen.
Then you will be able to select the Bible reference as shown below to jump to a specific chapter.
The app will retain your last viewed chapter and will reopen to that page the next time you open the Bible page. It will also retain your translation selection (View the previous question to learn how to change the translation)
Is there an audio Bible available in the app?
Unfortunately, at this time there is no audio Bible component available. This is being considered by our development team.
