What are Achievements?
Achievements are badges you can earn for completing various milestones on the ODB mobile app, such as completing a 7 day reading streak, completing your first reading plan, bookmarking a devotional, and so on.

The Achievements dashboard, where your Achievements can be viewed, can be accessed by opening the ODB app, tapping MORE>ACHIEVEMENTS.

This feature can only be accessed if you are signed into an account on the ODB app. If you are not signed into an account and you navigate to the Achievements page on the app, you will be prompted to sign into and account.

What is the reading streak?
When you use the Our Daily Bread mobile app you have the option of using the apps reading streak. This is a function that counts how many days in a row that you have read the devotional.
Your reading streak is displayed in two locations on the ODB app: primarily, on the home screen, and also in the Achievements dashboard.
How do I turn on/off the Achievements and the Reading Streak?
To turn on/off the Reading Streak, open the ODB app and tap on MORE from the menu at the bottom right of the screen. Then tap on SETTINGS>User Preferences. At the top of the User Preferences page, there is an option to toggle on/off Achievements.

To turn reading streaks on, you need to be signed into an account. If you are not signed into an account, you will be prompted to sign in when you attempt to turn Achievements on.

When Achievements is toggled ON, the Reading Streak counter will display on your home screen. When Achievements is toggled OFF, the Reading Streak counter will NOT display on your home screen.
I read yesterday, why did my reading streak get reset?
There are a few tips and tricks that will help you figure out if your streak has counted correctly. It is rare that streaks are reset by the system without a reason.
- The app can only count if you are logged in. You can tell by going to the home page. If you see the reading streak in the top right corner (assuming you haven't turned off that setting), you are logged in. You will need to log in again or your streak will be reset even if you did the reading everyday while not logged in. (This is the most common reason that a streak isn't counted)

- The Reading streak icon will tell you if your streak counted:
- Before you read when you have missed a day, the reading streak icon will show a gray "0" and star. This means that when you read today, the streak will be set to 1 since it was broken (or hadn't been started).

- Before you read when you are in the middle of a streak, the reading streak icon will show a number greater than "0" and star and the star will be greyed out. This means that when you read today, the streak will continue counting.

- After reading, the left side of the tile will have a fully filled in gold star. If the star isn't gold, your reading for the day was not tracked and you should go back into the devotional. You will need to be in the devotional for 5 seconds for the reading streak to count.

What do I do if my reading streak resets?
Unfortunately, we are unable to reset reading streaks and you will have to build our streak from where it is now.
After reviewing the I read yesterday, why did my reading streak get reset? section of this article, if you believe you are having a technical issue, please provide screenshots showing the issue. The best way to do this is to take screenshots of the homepage, showing the reading streaks, before and after you read until the issue occurs again.
Once you have the screenshots, please email them to odbm@odbm.org for more assistance.
If you prefer, you can also turn off your reading streaks. For instruction on how to do so please visit the How do I turn on/off the Achievements and the Reading Streak? section of this article.
Does the reading streak sync across my devices?
The reading streak is now tied to your account. You should be able to see an accurate reading streak as long as you are signed into your account.
How can I tell if my reading streak counted today's reading?
If you want to see if your reading streak has continued to count after reading the devotional for the day, please look at the "Home Screen."
The Reading Streak number and star will both be yellow (as shown below) if the reading streak has counted today's progress. If that star is gray, then the streak has not been continued yet today.
The Reading streak icon will tell you if your streak counted:
- Before you read when you have missed a day, the reading streak icon will show a "0" and star and the star will be greyed out. This means that when you read today, the streak will be set to 1 since it was broken or had not been started.

- Then, after reading, the left side of the tile will have a fully filled in gold star. If the star isn't gold, your reading for the day was not tracked and you should go back into the devotional. You will need to be in the devotional for 5 seconds for the reading streak to count.
